Wheel Bearing
Wheel bearings allow the wheel to spin smoothly and avoid damage to other suspension components They include a central housing and a number of rollers which roll along a separate smooth outer bearing race Some wheel bearings include both an inner and an outer race with rollers in between as one unit

Nov 07 2011Posted By: aes55 on 10/31/11 06:25pm We have a 2008 Dutchmen 25CGS We had the wheel bearings packed and needed new tires at 12 152 miles Sept 2010 On our first trip this year we arrived at destination only to discover a fried wheel bearing which destroyed the axle (14 161 mi) After we replaced the axle we had a fun summer of campingbut as I guided DH into the parking spot
Sep 02 2020The QIBR SP500300 Axle Bearing is known to enhance overall performance This wheel bearing is made from heavy-duty metals which allows for smooth interaction between the two small spheres The two orbs connect with a limited surface area which often results in less room for friction to take its full course
Our Big Bearing (30 spline and larger) axles are NHRA IHRA accepted Dutchman alloy axles currently meet SFI aftermarket axle specifications A red decal=30 spline up a black decal=29 spline down Price starts at $300pr (for bare axles-NO hardware or special machining) Axles with hardware package (As pictured with bearings studs

The bearings should fit in the same space as the caged version did and one too many will be clearly evident Use the same number of bearings for both sides usually only adding 2 maybe 3 more will suffice 7 balls caged usually equals 9 balls loose on a full-sized axle Only fill a gap larger than 110% the diameter of a new ball
May 14 2019The wheel bearings fit tightly inside this hub and ride on a metal axle shaft helping reduce friction when the wheel spins These are different from the engine bearings as there is no constant source of lubrication for the wheel bearings which means they need to be tight enough to keep away water and road dust

Apr 02 2019In most cases this is a type of grease designed specifically for wheel bearings (never used grease that isn't designed for trailer wheel bearings) As good as this grease is at its job it doesn't last forever As time goes on and the number of miles traveled increases you'll need to have your wheel bearings repacked with grease
Reduce the inside diameter of a bearing to fit a particular axle size Also known as spanner bushings they also reduce wear on the axle when used in plain bores and with straight roller bearings All have a hole for lubrication Washers slide over the bushing and add 3/32 to the hub length of your wheel Multiple washers can be used to match the length of the bushing
